    Love this poem! I have read a couple of books about the making of David. One, I believe you’ve read, The Agony and the Ecstasy. It is fascinating how Michelangelo brought David to life. Thanks for sharing this great poem!

  2. That particular block of marble had been turned down by two or three other sculptors because it had a defect through it, and was therefore deemed “unusable”. When Michelangelo looked at it, he saw David….
